The western lord was a cold lord,
Who lived in halls of stone,
His followers were very bored,
As he lived all alone.

But then one day struck hard he was ,
By his brother, only half,
And found was he by a girl,
Who he thought would have a laugh.

But she was sweet and kind,
And fed him everyday,
And she didn’t mind,
His cold and hurtful way.

And then when she appeared,
One day as he lay still,
He noticed gruesome bruises,
Not acquired from a spill.

Of her he asked one simple thing,
“ What happened, little girl?”
But she simply wouldn’t answer,
Her voice, it seemed, would not unfurl.

Instead she smiled widely,
Her gap-toothed grin revealed,
And he wondered at her quietly,
His heart it seemed to yield.

But then he left her suddenly,
To return home, to his land,
For he was a mighty lord,
And powerful was his hand.

As he traveled slowly,
Accompanied by a frog,
He sensed her scent strongly,
Followed by a dog.

He changed his course most quickly,
Heading south instead of west,
And within a single moment,
Found where her body rest.

Her eyes were opened widely,
Staring blankly to the left,
Her hand was fisted tightly,
Of life she was bereft.

The cold lord got to thinking,
‘This sword could maybe help,’
So he cut along her body,
And revived the little whelp!

The frog who was beside him,
Playing servant for his lord,
Couldn’t help but wonder,
‘Will she make his life less bored?’

So as she followed quietly,
Her loyalty full and true,
He tormented her fully,
To make the human blue.

He never did succeed though,
In his quest to make her sad,
Because his lord, Sesshoumaru,
Was the world’s greatest Dad!

And now it’s some years later,
And the human has grown tall,
The lords followers sought and killed her,
To watch their strong lord fall.

Into many pieces,
They cut her body apart,
So the lord could never find her,
And heal his broken heart.

As he wandered lonely,
An outcast in his land,
He found a wandering miko,
Who would help him in his stand.

She spoke to him quite softly,
And it came to him at last,
The girl who stood before him,
Knew his brother in the past!

He listened to her words, though,
And called on some old friends,
Then sharpened unused claws,
To show his enemies their ends.

And then, once more, years later,
The miko he did find,
She looked to him quite injured,
A dead bear right behind.

Together they did travel,
To find an old wolf pack,
To save a dying princess,
They had to bring him back.

But he fled home in the night,
Afraid to face the truth,
He mated with a human,
A princess in her youth.

She would bare him one strong child,
Should he save her fading life,
But he ran away from consequence,
So Kagome dealt with strife!

She took the west lord with her,
They wandered long and far,
To mountains cold and snowy,
Where the wolfish healers are.

They fought a great white dragon,
Which nearly killed them both,
And the miko ate some rabbit,
The taste she learned to loath.

It wasn’t much time later,
After cleaning dragon gut,
That they went back to the princess,
Who lay weakly in a hut.

They quickly saved her baby,
Saving her as well,
And then the miko left them,
And to the future fell.

There she found a story,
Of an evil that threatened the past,
And so she then returned there,
To end her tale at last.

But much was left to do still,
Before she could fight an win,
So she sought out the great west lord,
And she dragged him in.

She found an old, wise miko,
Who, with her, made a deal,
For a dark god she would fight,
And it’s power she would seal.

And with a deserter did she train,
To use her families blade,
But he was not a sober one,
And with alcohol he played.

Finally the time had come,
The evil she would face,
But still didn’t know,
If she would live many more days.

The story didn’t tell her,
If she would live of die,
Merely that the evil,
To the world would say goodbye!

And then that night,
They walked away,
The miko thought,
Never to see another day.

And as the dawn rose,
She looked west,
And didn’t cry,
She tried her best.

But then her western lord,
He turned,
And in her heart she knew,
It burned.

He walked away,
His heart was cold,
But the oddball miko,
She was bold.

She said to him,
So brave and strong,
“Promise you’ll win,
Don’t prove me wrong.”

For his vassals,
Who knew from last,
Saw a second chance,
To finish their old task.

And then he snorted,
And she knew,
He was strong,
And credit due.

And then he walked,
Away from her,
His white hair gone,
His form a blur.

But she didn’t dare look back,
To see him gone,
Without a track.

And with a new resolve,
Moved on,
To her Edo,
To make the evil go and be gone.

And as she fought,
A demon mist,
Her Lord arrived,
She got the gist.

He fought it hard,
So she could see,
To killing the evil,
The madoushi.

Her heart was true,
Her aim was off,
She missed the deathly,
Vital spot.

But then she turned,
And aimed her bow,
Her arrow shot,
A killing blow.

But as she shot,
Her arrow true,
The madoushi
Came through too.

A dagger went,
Right through her neck,
Just as her west lord,
Turned to check.

To be continued.
This is something I wrote for , author of the wonderful story, "Tales from the House of the Moon."

I hope that she enjoys it, and I hope that I can finish it soon, as it will remain incomplete as long as her story does.

The poem follows the story of Kagome and Sesshoumaru, from the Japanese animation, "Inuyasha."
